PROCREATE
My dad bought me procreate in 2019, and from the very beginning ive used it to animate. Sometimes i do it all on there, other times i make the assets in IbisPaint and tween them on Procreate. its the one i use most frequently, but its really not that interesting of a program, isnt it?

FLASH CS3
Full disclosure- I did pirate this. I dont even recall how.
this site mightve been it? Idk whether it asks you for a code to use it- but its really not hard to find dumped access codes online- or better pirating sites in general.
Im not sure why I chose Flash CS3 over AA or any objectively better animation program from adobe- I just felt the interface would be easier for me to understand + chance to mess around with flash specific options?? hell yeah!

EASYTOON
EasyToon is an oldass animation program from the very early 2000s iirc? Its only good for gifs, and it lacks any color options exceot various tones of black- but if youre looking for a simpler-yet paked of options-program, its fun to mess around with!!

CLIPNOTE STUDIO
Clipnote studio Is a free animation softwarethat aims to recreate the. "vibes" of nintendo's Flipnote studio. I never got to own a ds/3ds as a child, so this is a huge deal to me. Its only available for windows as of now, but i would so recommend it, specially if you actually have used flipnote studio before- i can only imagine it heightens the experience lmao (also youll probably have a better clue of what youre doing than i do

PAINT 3D
Paint 3d is my way of making budget 3d animations as someone who lacks the commitment to learn blender. It follows the same principle as my MS Paint animations- make the frames, put them together in
PhotoScape .
I try to make models for these animations in bits that will allow to be moved around without much restraint- articulated, in a very primitive sense. So I just kinda tween em like how you would in FlipAClip- moving each bit a little frame by frame. I would not recommend this to anyone in their sane mind it is SO HARD to keep track of the movement youre going for- but you know. i still do it. so if youre up for the challenge you have my permission to give it a try LMAO

MS PAINT
Id be shocked if anyone browsing this site hasnt tried animating on MS Paint at least once as a kid. I came into the scene late by most people's standards- language barriers and parent control prevented me from dwelling too much into the early 2010's online animation landscape, but once i did the universal veil had been shed, and there was no going back baby!!
MS Paint was the only drawing program on my mom's laptop, and paired with an old editing software she had, it made all my dreams possible.
I use the same method i did back then- i know a lot of people used Windows MovieMaker? to edit their animations? But personally i used
PhotoScape to put my animations together. Its onlyreally good for making gifs- but its not like i was allowed to post videos anywhere either way.
Id draw all the frames in MSPaint, upload them in the "animated gif" Menu, and fiddled with the settings til i was able to convey the story i wanted. Theres not that much science to it, but it is time consuming compared to other methods, so i dont really do it all that often anymore. Id def recommend it tho!!
If youre wondering what wee old Oscar was cooking up back in the good ol days, fret not- Ill upload them here eventually...Ive got... heh... plans...
